Chelsea transfer news: Blues eye summer moves for Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund’s Alexander Isak

Chelsea are eyeing a double striker swoop this summer as Maurizio Sarri seeks to solve the Blues’ scoring issues, according to reports.

The Mirror claim Bayern Munich marksman Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund’s Alexander Isak are on the club’s radar, as the Blues look to strengthen their front line significantly this summer.

Lewandowski turns 31 in August, but despite that would command a hefty transfer fee – believed to be in the region of £70m.

Since leaving Dortmund five years ago, Lewandowski has scored an incredible 125 goals in 152 games.

The Mirror further claim Sarri’s men have already contacted the Polish striker’s advisers ahead of a potential summer move.

Jurgen Klopp, Lewandowski’s former boss at Dortmund, would also be interested in signing the experienced striker.

The Blues are also looking at Swedish striker Isak.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Dutch club Willem II, where he has a remarkable 100 per cent scoring rate. Isak has netted 12 times in 12 appearances since joining the Eredivise outfit on loan in January, while he’s also chipped in with three assists.

Chelsea scouts were reported to be in attendance during Saturday’s clash with Ajax in Tilburg, in which Isak scored a penalty

A number of Europe’s elite clubs, including Real Madrid, were monitoring his progress before Dortmund splashed out £14m for his services in January 2017.

The LaLiga giants are likely to rival the Blues if Dortmund show a willingness to sell Isak in the close season.

The Blues are already planning ahead, despite the transfer ban handed out by FIFA hanging over them for the next two transfer windows.

They have, however, launched an appeal and are hopeful it will be business as usual when their case is heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport later this month.

Chelsea are desperate to land a proven hitman, with Olivier Giroud’s future uncertain at Stamford Bridge, while the jury is still out on Gonzalo Higuain.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata has been loaned out to Atletico Madrid after failing to impress. He is not expected to have a future with Chelsea.
