Like many of United’s star players, Lukaku struggled at the start of the season under Jose Mourinho as the Red Devils recorded their worst ever start to a Premier League season.
Fans and critics alike were quick to berate the £75million striker as his touch and his confidence deserted him.
In fact, one bookmaker even offered prices on the 25-year-old to miscontrol the ball with his first touch during his lowest point.
However, the former Chelsea striker has proved his worth and the stats show he is in fact United’s quickest player this season.

Lukaku is much quicker than people give him credit for
When answering questions from fans during an Instagram post on the Red Devils’ Instagram post, Lukaku claimed he was quicker than Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw – famed for their explosive pace.
And, courtesy of Opta and the Dail Mail, there is now definitive proof he was telling the truth.
In the top ten speeds from the season so far, Lukaku features three times and his top speed of 34.89km/h is the time to beat.
Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young also take their place among the speed merchants at Old Trafford, but it is Lukaku who comes out on top.
