Danny Rose has urged Tottenham to find a way to get Christian Eriksen a new contract, insisting he ‘trusts’ the club to get the deal done.
The 27-year-old has one year left on a contract that earns him a reported £70,000-a-week, but has been stalling on signing a new deal amidst interest from LaLiga giants Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have been strongly linked with the Dane and were reportedly weighing up a £100million bid to acquire his services at the turn of the year.
Getting Eriksen to sign a new deal could be vital to any hopes Spurs have of bringing silverware to the club as he has once again been crucial this season, racking up seven goals and 12 assists in 32 league matches.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed he is open to discussing a new deal and Rose hopes the club can persuade him to commit.

“It’s obviously vital,” he said. “If you look over the five years that the manager’s been here, Christian has probably played the most games and that says a lot.
“When he doesn’t play there are questions that we don’t look the same.
“It’s a pleasure to play with him, I hope he does sign. The lads in the changing room trust the people upstairs to hopefully get him to do that.
“We’ll just have to wait and see and hope that he does sign.”
It has been reported that Real Madrid may have given up their pursuit of Eriksen due to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
It is thought their experience of dealing with him when signing Gareth Bale in 2013 is still fresh in the mind. Bale eventually moved on transfer deadline day for a record £85million despite Real opening talks with Tottenham months earlier.
